„THE NEONATE 2018 – AN INTERNATIONAL SYMPOSIUM FOR ASIA“.
Following the overall positive feedback to the first Shanghai symposium in 2016, we feel strongly encouraged to provide an actual résumé of neonatal medicine in 2018. Despite the remarkable progress in many areas of neonatology which has considerably improved survival and outcome of immature and mature newborn infants, neonatologists and pediatricians are still facing numerous burning questions and challenges regarding optimal concepts in neonatal care. The intention of “THE NEONATE 2018” is to define the current knowledge of neonatal medicine in interactive discussions, to provide practical guidelines and, moreover, to critically identify urgent needs in basic and clinical research which will eventually help to improve the care of neonates not only in Asia but worldwide.
As the scientific organizers of “THE NEONATE 2018” we are most grateful to all faculty members, highly respected clinicians and scientists in the field, and to all sponsors of this symposium who have been of greatest help in the realization of this ambitious project.
