How to get to the City
Airport
Strasbourg Airport, officially known as Aéroport de Strasbourg-Entzheim (SXB), is an international airport serving the city of Strasbourg and the surrounding Grand Est region of France.
Located about 10 kilometers (6 miles) southwest of the city center, it is primarily used for both domestic and regional European flights.
To get from Strasbourg Airport (SXB) to Strasbourg city center by public transport, the fastest and most common way is to take the train. The estimated travel time is about 27 minutes.
TER Train (Regional Express Transport): The airport is directly connected to Strasbourg Central Station (Gare de Strasbourg) via a shuttle train (part of the TER network).
- Starting Point: The Entzheim-Aéroport train station is located a few minutes’walk from the airport terminal.
- Frequency: Trains depart regularly.
- Destination: Gare de Strasbourg.
Train
Gare de Strasbourg, the city’s main railway station is conveniently close to the city center, it connects the Grand Est region of France to the rest of the country and neighboring European nations.
Strasbourg offers excellent connectivity for travelers, for example Paris and Germany.
How to get to the venue
From Strasbourg Airport (SXB)
The best public transport method combines the regional train and the city tram network.
- Total Estimated Travel Time: Approximately 58 minutes.
- The Route:
- Take the Train: From the Entzheim-Aéroport train station (located a short walk from the airport terminal), take the TER train towards Strasbourg-Ville (Gare Centrale).
- Transfer to Tram: Once you arrive at the central Gare de Strasbourg station, you will need to take the tram to the PMC.
- Final Stop: Look for the tram lines that serve the stops near the Congress Center, typically Wacken or Palais des Congrès stops.
From Strasbourg Central Station (Gare de Strasbourg)
- Total Estimated Travel Time (Transit): Approximately 15 minutes.
- The Route:
- Take the Tram: From the tram stop outside the Gare de Strasbourg, take one of the lines heading towards the PMC area.
- Lines: Use the tram service directly connecting the station to the Convention Centre area. The main stops are usually Wacken or Palais des Congrès.
- Walk: The venue is a very short walk from these tram stops.
