The Intrapartum Fetal Monitoring Study group, founded in 2012, is one of the most active study groups of the European Association of Perinatal Medicine (EAPM).

The main AIM of the group activities is to promote training related to intrapartum fetal monitoring (IFM) in European countries, foster research collaboration and develop standards related to IFM.

Other tasks include promotion and development of technology related to IFM, as well as the international guidelines on the use of IFM.

The IFMSG organise courses and sessions within EAPM meetings and together with EAPM and European Midwives Association (EMA) is responsible for the  organisation of the European Congress on Intrapartum Care (ECIC) which is held every two years in different countries of Europe.
